Where are you located?
We are based in Congleton, Cheshire, just a 5 minute walk from Congleton train station on the Manchester to London line, or a 15 minute drive from junction 17 of the M6.
What Studio facilities are available?
We have a top-of-the-range recording studio with a bespoke sound-proofed voiceover booth and staff with over 30 years’ experience in the spoken English recording industry.
How long does a book take to record?
This is dependent on what you require, a book that is for instance about 55,000 words long would normally take us about 2-3 days to record. But if you are reading the book yourself this could increase to 4-6 days depending on experience. Once we have the book recorded, post production (if required) usually takes approx. 2-3 weeks. Obviously, this is all very rough guide and is dependent on the length of the book and studio availability.
Can I read my Audiobook myself?
Of course, the Studio complete with an in house engineer can be hired per hour, read through the Audiobooks and Services section on this website for more information.
How much does it cost to record an Audiobook?
This is dependent on numerous factors like how you would prefer to record your audiobook and how long your book is for example. If you drop us a message with a draft of your book we can work out a estimated quote for you.
How is the Audiobook Provided?
It can be provided however you prefer! Whether you prefer a raw recording, or a post produced and mastered recording. We can deliver it in any file format you require via a download link over the internet or posted to you on a USB stick.
What is ACX?
ACX is owned by Audible, an Amazon Company, one of the largest distributors of Audiobooks currently. All audiobooks distributed by ACX have to comply to a list of guidelines which ultimately maintains good quality for the listener at the other end. The majority of these requirements are common sense, like maintaining a constant volume level or making sure there’s no errant background noises for example.
Do you charge VAT?
We do, but VAT is already included in all our pricing. A VAT Invoice will be provided with your booking.
